They had many friends and family come to see them baptized. Grandma Marj, Grandpa Doug, Great Grandpa Lamoreaux and Grandpa Kevin, Trent-Ashley and kids, David-Tia and kids, Matt-Rachelle and kids, Curtis-Bethany and kids, Clayton-Ashley and kids, and Uncle Tyler from our family. Also Marli Monson and her daddy, Maylie Page and her grandma, and also the Paxmans and the Bithells came. The girls went to the church around 9 with their Daddy and got into their jumpsuits. There were several wards with children getting baptized so there were a few speakers in the sacrament room and then we sang songs until it was our turn. Jocelyn and Ivy were the last to get baptized and they didn't seem scared at all, just giggly and excited. The bishop told everyone how excited he was for the girls and how special they were to him. Sister Willets welcomed them into Activity Days and gave them a CTR pillowcase. For the baptisms, Jocelyn went first while Ivy watched from the side in her jumpsuit. Dad cried a little while saying the baptism prayer because the spirit was very strong. Jocelyn got out and stayed by the font in her towel to watch Ivy get baptized next. As they were getting into dry clothes they kept saying how fun and neat it was. Jocelyn said "I feel like a new little baby again, so clean and pure!"
They were confirmed and given the Holy Ghost right after the baptism. They had uncles and Grandpa Parkinson and Great Grandpa Lamoreaux helping bless them. Daddy blessed Jocelyn with the ability to remember that Heavenly Father loves her always and to be able to overcome distraction. He also blessed her to be able to keep her interest in learning and reading, especially the things pertaining to the Gospel.
Daddy then blessed Ivy to be able to use her kindness to support and bring others up. He blessed her with health and the desire to live healthy and be active. He both told them several times how very special they were to Heavenly Father and how pleased Heavenly Father was with their decision to become members of his church.
Afterward we had lunch for family at our house. We ate Port of Subs sandwiches and salads and had 8-shaped cookies and other desserts. There were so many cousins and aunts and uncles!
It's wonderful to feel the love of family and to be surrounded by people who want the very best for you and are supporting your decisions. We are so blessed to have so many family members that live close and love us!
